Coronado Island

Last weekend we headed to Coronado Island to watch the San Diego skyline view. It was a really wonderful island with beautiful, white beaches and large waves in the ocean.

The movie "Some like it hot" starring Marilyn Monroe was filmed here at The Coronado Hotel :)

Fairytales in Carmel

Beautiful colors in Fall

They had the best fudge in this little store!

Our hotel

Last week we went on a road trip through California. One of the destinations was Carmel, located by the sea in the Bay Area. It's a very small town, but it has the most adorable fairytale houses throughout the city. It kind of reminded me of some of the Disney stories.

We were only in Carmel for one night, but seeing as the town was small, it was a reasonable amount of time. It's a very expensive area, and the hotel that we stayed at was the most expensive one on our trip. To be honest, I don't think the hotel was worth the money, but it doesn't seems like you can get anything much cheaper. If possible, I would recommend spending a day in the town and then hit the road in the evening to save the money on housing. :)

Sunset Cliffs

Yesterday we went to Sunset Cliffs here in San Diego. It was very beautiful and such a magical experience to watch the Sun being swallowed by the Pacific Ocean. I would recommend coming early before the sunset as it can be hard to find a parking spot otherwise. Tomorrow we are heading to Kings Canyon! :)

Bazar del Mundo

(Colorful piñatas)

Yesterday we went to another part of Old Town - Bazar del Mundo. The pictures are a bit similar to those in my previous post about Old Town, but I still thought I would show them anyway. It's not a very large place and can easily be combined with a tour around the Historical State Old Town.

Being from Denmark, this is a very different culture. All the colors in the streets are amazing and something I could get used to, although the weather sometimes is too hot for Scandinavians - especially when we have to sit and study for our classes. Siestas seems like a good idea all the time. :)
